UCA Farnham Fine Art Student Success - Artist Film in the James Hockey Gallery



UCA Farnham Fine Art students, Gloria Alderson-Nemeth, Max Leach, Matthew Mahoney-Page, Vanisha Patel and Cathryn Quail, who graduated this summer in the class of 2015 have been curated by Richard Hylton with a screening exhibition in the vast space of the James Hockey Gallery.

Barbara Walker & Julia Keenan Artist Talks in the James Hockey Gallery




UCA Farnham Fine Art students have been able to engage with the work currently exhibited in the James Hockey and Foyer Galleries, that current exhibits the work of artist in residence Barbara Walker and alumni artist Julia Keenan.

Both artists recently gave a talk about their practice and how they developed their new work for the galleries. Students were able to ask questions and discuss the artist's process the issues that arise from the work. Students were able to gain further insight into "making an exhibition" and can continue to engage with Barbara Walker as her residency continues.

UCA Farnham Fine Art Exhibition - FUTURITY

UCA Farnham Fine Art students from FE, BA & MA currently have work exhibited across 5 exhibition spaces on the Farnham campus. Yesterday's blog post looked at the work in the Foyer Gallery, today we look at student work in one half of the vast space of the James Hockey Gallery cast with the electric blue light of Futurity.

UCA Farnham Fine Art Exhibition - FUTURITY



Students studying Fine Art at UCA Farnham across Foundation, BA (Hons) Fine Art and MA Fine Art, submitted exhibition proposals for an open call exhibition to showcase their talents.  

70 applications were received proposing 140 words in total, and from these high quality submissions the curatorial panel had the difficult task of putting together the exhibition. 23 works were chosen and the  exhibition will open on Thursday 17th April, utilising 5 exhibition spaces across the Farnham campus.

Historical & Theoretical Themes in Contemporary Art in the James Hockey Gallery Today!

Year 1 students today spend part of their seminar for Historical & Theoretical Themes in Contemporary Art in the current exhibition  "Image of the Road" by Helen Kirwan and Simon Pruciak. 

Students were able to build on the first part of the session to analyse the conceptual, and aesthetic considerations of the work, and to also engage with issues around staging and curating contemporary fine art in inform their upcoming exhibition.

UCA Farnham Student Success - Year 2 Arts & Media Exhibition

This week the year 2 Arts & Media students held their end of year exhibition in the James Hockey Gallery. Supported by the gallery curator Richard Hylton and a team of specialist technicians, students had the opportunity to realise their work within this vast exhibition space.
