UCA Farnham Fine Art Student Success - Charlie Evaristo Boyce

UCA Farnham Fine Art student, Charlie Evaristo Boyce who graduated in the class of 2014, has work that is part of the major exhibition RISK, featuring the work of Marel Duchamp, ORLAN, Fishili & Weiss and other international artists. 

Charlie was awarded an artist residency upon graduating in 2014 at Turner Contemporary and continues his relationship with them by making a range of ironic lab safety coats that feature a catalogue of risk and danger signs.

Charlie specialised in screen print installation whilst at UCA Farnham Fine Art and continues to explore his practice utilising appropriated imagery, that also encompasses participation. Charlie also runs his own workshop and gallery space in Margate.

Paul Vivian in Wells Art Contemporary Open 2015, Somerset

UCA Farnham Fine Art course leader, Paul Vivian has work exhibiting in competition as part of Wells Art Contemporary Open 2015, Somerset. 

The shortlist was judged by artists Richard Wentworth and Mariele Neudecker. 

The exhibition is open from 9th until 25th October.

Barbara Walker & Julia Keenan Artist Talks in the James Hockey Gallery

UCA Farnham Fine Art students have been able to engage with the work currently exhibited in the James Hockey and Foyer Galleries, that current exhibits the work of artist in residence Barbara Walker and alumni artist Julia Keenan.

Both artists recently gave a talk about their practice and how they developed their new work for the galleries. Students were able to ask questions and discuss the artist's process the issues that arise from the work. Students were able to gain further insight into "making an exhibition" and can continue to engage with Barbara Walker as her residency continues.

Ambitious UCA Farnham Fine Art students who are about to enter their 3rd Year have kicked off with not one but two exhibitions of their work in London. Centricity 1 opened yesterday at 5th Base Gallery in East London and Centricity 2 opens on Sunday.

UCA Farnham Fine Art student, Anna Garrett who graduated just over a year ago, has recently curated an exhibition of alumni fine art called Salad Days at the Farnham Maltings. 

Anna, who has worked in London with Zeitgiest Arts Projects and Oxford House Gallery and exhibited 9 times in the past year, now turns her skills towards exhibition management.

The exhibition is open now until September and includes the work of this years graduates from Fine Art; Julia Keenan, James Johns and Asia Pettitt.

UCA Farnham Fine Art students, Lizy, Bending, Charlotte Johnson, Peter Hanmer and Morwenna Lake have work in the Summer Exhibition at the Menier Gallery in South London. The students who graduated 1 year ago have all gone on to have success with residencies and exhibition opportunities. 

Lizy has exhibited 20 times since graduating and completed 2 artist residencies within the past year!
Charlotte has exhibited on 9 occasions since graduating.
Peter has exhibited work in 8 exhibitions, including at The Discerning Eye at the Mall Galleries, London.
Morwenna has exhibited in 9 exhibition within the past year.

The exhibition opens on 28th July

UCA Farnham Fine Art Student Success - Flo Yapp

UCA Farnham Fine Art student, Flo Yapp, who graduated almost a year ago in the class of 2014, has work in the Bath Fringe Arts Festival 2015. 

Flo builds on a successful year of curating and exhibiting work at in Sheffield before becoming an artist in residence at 44AD Studio and working with the prestigious Arnolfini Gallery in Bath. 

Flo took part in the exhibition Pretty in Pink, earlier this year and has work Flo's in the Bath Open Art Prize 2015 exhibition as part of the Festival.
