UCA Farnham Fine Art Student Success - Unnatural Curiosities Exhibition



A collective of students currently studying in year 2 of the BA (Hons) Fine Art course at UCA Farnham have organised and curated an exhibition of works that utilises taxidermy. The collective that consists of; Devi Gurung, Charlotte Houston, Penelope Prince, Jordan Kitching-Ruddick, Pippa Ward. The exhibition is part of ongoing Professional Practice activities that UCA Farnham Fine Art students engage with.

The exhibition opens on 1st April at The Last Tuesday Society in East London. 

Tessa Farmer, Peter Hanmer, Tasha Marks, Kate MccGwire are the artists featured in the exhibition.

UCA Farnham Fine Art Student Success - Sight Specific at Clapham Orangery


A collective of students currently studying in year 2 of BA (Hons) Fine Art at UCA Farnham that consists of; Sophie Bownes, Charlotte Bradley, Amy Scott-Pillow, Kathleen Rutherford and Jamie Ashley have organised and curated an exhibition of invited artists to produce work that for a site specific exhibition. The artists have produced work in response to Clapham Orangery in South London.

Paul Vivian in Sartorious Islands at Art Gene, Barrow in Furness, Cumbria

UCA Farnham Fine Art course leader, Paul Vivian has a solo show of new work at Art Gene in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria. The exhibition "Sartorious Islands" responds to the novel Solaris by Stanislaw Lem.

The exhibition is open now, until 8th May.

UCA Farnham Fine Art Student Success - Make It Happen Collective Performance Event

     

UCA Farnham Fine Art students currently in year 2 have formed MAKE IT HAPPEN   COLLECTIVE.

     The group that consists of  Dayo Adesina, Bruno Casanova, Amy Pan, Poppy Rippon, Vassilis Spanoudes. 

     The group have curated and organised an exhibition of performance that brings artists to performance space at UCA Farnham for a live stream that also links performance artists internationally with this event. 

     The event took place last week and is archived online.

UCA Farnham Fine Art Student Success - Lizy Bending

Lizy Bending who graduated in the class of 2014, has work in the exhibition Rising Stars at the New Ashgate Gallery. Lizy will also be supported by their mentoring program. The exhibition opens on 19th March 2015. 

This exhibition marks Lizy's 15th since graduation last summer! Lizy is also currently Artist in Residence at Orchre Print Studios.

Jamie Shovlin & Paul Westcombe at UCA Farnham Fine Art this Week!



The artists Jamie Shovlin and Paul Westcombe are returning to UCA Farnham this week, to compliment the permanent team of tutors. 

Jamie Shovlin's practice encompasses post media practices that takes in drawing, installation and moving image.


Paul Westcombe's work explores expanded drawing practice.

UCA Farnham Fine Art alumni, Kate MccGwire who graduated in 2001 currently has work in two international exhibitions. 

Kate has work in the group show Beauty of the Beast at Museum Arnhem, Holland until 10 May 2015. 

Kate has work in a solo show SECRETE: Kate MccGwire at Galerie Michael Haas, Berlin, Germany until 18 April 2015.

Amy Wood - Chemical Kleen in the Linear Gallery

UCA Farnham Fine Art year 2 student, Amy Wood has recent studio experiments exhibited in the Linear Gallery project space at Farnham. Over the last couple of weeks Amy has been exploring domesticity and focused to deconstruct and subvert the language attributed to cleaning products. The larger semiotic and cultural associations of cleanness, colour and smell are examined.

Grant Petrey in ICEBOX at Crane Arts Philadelphia, USA



UCA Farnham Fine Art tutor, Grant Petrey has work in the exhibition ICEBOX, curated by artist Alex da Corte from 12th March.
The work will be screened at 20ft x 90ft and includes the work by Gregory Kalliche, Katie Hovencamp, Joan Oh, Joseph Thomas,  Dustin Nelson, Justin Bursk, Alex Ibsen, Bryne Rasmussen-Smith and Andrew Smith-Rasmussen, Eric Abaka, Michael Richison, and Lindsey Glover.

Danny Rolph at UCA Farnham Fine Art this week!




Painter, Danny Rolfe will be at UCA Farnham Fine Art this week to support students in the development of their practice. Danny has exhibited internationally and has work in the Tate collection, London and the Museum of Modern Art collection New York.




Danny currently has work in two exhibitions at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York, and the Display Gallery, London.


Danny is joined this week by the return of painter Sigrid Holmwood and performance artist Liane Lang.

Greig Burgoyne in Gap fillers at Briggait Spaces 1 + 2, Glasgow, Scotland



UCA Farnham Fine Art tutor, Greig Burgoyne will be in Glasgow this week developing a performance installation at Briggait Spaces, to develop an exhibition of the work produced during this week will culminate in an exhibition that opens on 13th March and runs until 17th April. Greig will be interviewed by summerhalltv as part of the week long residency project.
