UCA Farnham Graduate Show Exhibition 2014

Yesterday Year 3 students studying Fine Art and Arts & Media had their graduating final year exhibition as part of the Farnham Show 2014.

UCA Farnham Fine Art Student Success - Carl Gent

UCA Farnham Fine Art student Carl Gent, who graduated in 2009 has another show coming up on May. Carl will be taking part in the Fringe Arts Bath exhibition "Heart of Darkness" supported by the Institute of Contemporary Interdisciplinary Arts and the University of Bath. Carl is currently studying a MFA that he will complete in 2015.

UCA Farnham Fine Art Student Success - Cheryl Simmons

UCA Farnham Fine Art alumni, Cheryl Simmons who graduated in 2011 is nearing the completion of her MA in Fine Art. Cheryl currently has work in the touring programme (FLAMIN) Videoclub and Film London Artists’ Moving Image Network present: Selected II. 

This prestigious programme was already toured the UK, including the Whitechapel  Gallery, London, FACT in Liverpool and CAA in Glasgow. The programme of artists film  is currently touring the USA at venues including the Seattle International Film Festival and Spectacle Theatre, New York. 

Cheryl is also shortlisted for the AspenArt Prize 2014, along with Hilde Krohn Huse another UCA Farnham Fine Art alumni.

Gustav Metzger at UCA Farnham Fine Art - TODAY!

The UCA Farnham Fine Art collaboration with artist Gustav Metzger, continues following the success of his exhibition "Mass Media" in the university James Hockey Gallery earlier this year. Preparations for the Facing Extinction Conference at UCA Farnham in June continue, and students were able to meet with Gustav Metzger to discuss their practice and preparation for their final graduating degree show.

The list of conference speakers in June where UCA students and prospective students will be in attendance with delegates and guests has just been updated.

UCA Farnham Fine Art tutor, Greig Burgoyne is showing new work in the group show Apparatus at L'Escaut gallery in, Brussels, Belgium from 16th May.

UCA Farnham Fine Art student, Adam Kelly,  has his 12th exhibition of paintings since graduating in 2012. Represented by Footfall Art, Bermondsey, London, Adam has work in the group show "Paint Like You Mean It"  at Interview Room 11 gallery, Edinburgh from 30th May until 14th June.

UCA Farnham Fine Art Student Success - Hilde Krohn Huse at the Museum of London

UCA Farnham Fine Art  2012 graduate Hilde Krohn Huse has been commissioned by the Museum of London to produce a work for the Digital London events. The work for the Sackler Gallery entitled "Hashhush" will use the elliptical LED screen and draw data from Twitter as part of the work from Thursday 15th May.

Greig Burgoyne in FAX at Karst Projects, Plymouth

UCA Farnham Fine Art tutor, Greig Burgoyne has work in the drawing exhibition FAX at KARST Gallery in Plymouth, which includes the work of David Blandy, Martha Rosler and UCA Fine Art visiting lecturer Richard Wentworth. The show opens on 15th May until 15th June.

Year 3 Final Assessment Exhibition Preparation Continues

With the studios cleared out, and time rapidly ticking away, students in year 3 have been working hard to curate and install their exhibition ready for their final assessment and the opening of the Campus Exhibition at Farnham on May 22nd.
